Vapour control membrane

AirGuard® Sd23

AirGuard® Sd23 is a vapour controlling and waterproof membrane composed of DuPont Typar® spunbond coated with Polyproplylene. AirGuard® Sd23 is used to prevent moist air from penetrating the insulation layers of the wall and roof construction from the inside. This prevents condensation and ultimately mold from forming in the insulation. The membrane has exceptionally high tear resistance and is easy to process.

Applications

AirGuard® Sd23 is used on the warm side as a vapour control membrane in wall and roof constructions. Due to its constant vapour control property, AirGuard® Sd23 is suitable in constructions of areas belonging to climate class 2 and 3, such as homes, offices, schools, etc. AirGuard® Sd23 protects the construction against moisture and provides optimal airtight insulation.

Installation

Apply AirGuard® Sd23 to the warm side of the wall and roof construction. Attach the membrane to the back-laying structure using staples. The logo should be legible from the inside. Maintain horizontal and vertical overlaps of 100mm. For optimal vapour control, we recommend sealing staples, seams and overlaps with Tyvek® tape. Seal penetrations and connections wind and watertight with VASTR® Butyl tape or Tyvek® FlexWrap tape.

Advantages

Reduced heat loss

Reduced risk of condensation in the insulation

Limited vapor transmission

Superior mechanical strength

Transparency for easier installation of insulation

Airtight and water resistance

Ultra-light and therefore easy to install
