Reflective membrane

Polytex® 145AG

Polytex® 145AG is a water-resistant breathable non-woven membrane provided with an aluminium facing. The aluminium side has extremely low emissivity resulting in a 97% reflection of infrared radiation. Polytex® 145AG is thus a fully waterproof spunbond membrane that, in addition to providing breathable protection for the structure, also significantly improves the insulation value.

Applications

Polytex® 145AG is used as a waterproof breathable membrane in facade and roof constructions. The membrane is applied to the cold side of the structure. Polytex® 145AG can be applied behind masonry as well as closed cladding.
The reflection layer works optimally in weakly ventilated facades since a ventilation cavity is always present here. Polytex® 145AG may be applied directly against hard or soft substrates. When Polytex® 145AG is applied to the roof, the reflection only contributes to a reduction in heating in the summer.
Since the space under roofing is highly ventilated, a higher insulation value should not be used here. Polytex® 145AG protects the structure and provides optimal insulation and moisture management.

Installation

Polytex® 145AG may be processed directly against hard and soft substrates.
Process the printing on the membrane legibly toward the cladding. Maintain a cavity of 20 to 40 mm for optimal thermal resistance. Apply Polytex® 145 AG in a shingle fashion. For overlaps, maintain a minimum of 150, and a maximum of 200mm overlap. Apply Polytex® 145AG to the structure using staples. Tape off staples and overlaps with VASTR® Aluminium tape basic. Seal penetrations and connections wind and watertight with VASTR® Butyl tape and/or Tyvek® FlexWrap tape.
For optimal water resistance and durability, VASTR® Butyl tape should be applied under the batten.
