Applications

The three-layer Polytex® Eco is completely waterproof and breathable. This makes the membrane suitable as a waterproof breathable layer on the cold side of structures in roof and facade. The Polytex® Eco has limited UV resistance and should be completely covered by the roofing or cladding in four weeks. Polytex® Eco is thinner and lighter than the Polytex® Original and therefore not suitable for roof pitches below 20 degrees, flat roof tiles, solar panels and metal roof and wall cladding. Want to apply the membrane directly to the hard surface of a sloping roof? Then we recommend using the Polytex® Original or Polytex® Pro.

Installation

Apply the Polytex® Eco roof tilewise where horizontal overlaps should be at least 150 mm. Staple and overlap seams with VASTR® non-woven tape. Polytex® Eco is applied to the construction using stainless steel staples after which the battens are placed over the staples. VASTR® Nail Sealing Tape should be applied under the (dust) batten to ensure water tightness of screw hole connection. Always apply the Polytex® Eco legibly from the outside. When used in conjunction with facade cladding, a batten should be installed over the staples. At the location of a corner, the membrane should be converted to the first following roof batten, where it will be fastened with staples and possibly another batten. VASTR® butyl tape should be applied under the batten for optimal water-repellent and durability.
