Applications

The Polytex® Original is used as a waterproof, breathable layer on the cold side of roof and facade structures in new construction and renovation. The Polytex® Original can be used in roofs and facades both directly on hard and soft substrates.

Installation

Apply the Polytex® Original in a shingle fashion where horizontal overlaps should be at least 150 mm. Staple and overlap seams with VASTR® non-woven tape. Polytex® Original is applied to the structure using stainless steel staples after which the battens are placed over the staples. VASTR® Nail Sealing Tape should be applied under the batten to ensure water tightness of screw hole connection. Always apply the Polytex® Original legibly from the outside. When used in conjunction with Façade cladding, a battend is installed over the staples on the batten. At the location of a corner, the membrane should be converted to the first following batten, where it will be fastened with staples and possibly a wooden slat. VASTR® butyl tape should be applied under the batten for optimal water resistance and durability.
