Applications

TAFTEX® EX-210 Facade is a breathable waterproofing membrane that can be used to protect the insulation layer and construction behind a partially open exterior facade. TAFTEX® EX-210 Facade can withstand partial UV exposure as may occur with a slatted facade or otherwise exposed exterior facade. The membrane is also suitable as a waterproof breathable membrane under tile roofs that do not close exactly (e.g. Reclamed roof tiles).

Installation

In facades with open joints, openings of up to 20mm or 20% are permitted. Between the cladding and TAFTEX® EX-210 maintain at least 20mm air cavity. For roof and façade constructions, apply TAFTEX® EX-210 in a shingle fashion, with overlaps being a minimum of 150mm and a maximum of 200mm. When used in conjunction with façade cladding, a wooden slat is applied over staples to the batten. At the location of a corner, the membrane should be converted to the first following batten, where it is fastened with a wooden slat. TAFTEX® EX-210 should be processed with the black side facing outward. For optimal water resistance and durability, VASTR® Butyl tape should be applied under the batten. Finish facades and recesses with TAFTEX® Facade tape.
