TAFTEX® GF-140

TAFTEX® GF-140 is a reinforced technical building membrane. With its strong UV stabilized reinforcement, TAFTEX® GF-140 maintains strength for an extremely long period of time. Microperforation and density of perforation provide water-repellent while maintaining breathability.

Applications

TAFTEX® GF-140 is used as a breathable layer and water repellent membrane on the outside in facades. The unique microperforation allows moisture, in the form of vapour, to drain to the outside. TAFTEX® GF-140 is also used as a temporary glazing membrane for wind- and watertightening facade openings during construction.

Installation

TAFTEX® GF-140 is micro-perforated and should therefore be processed free of hard substrates. In facades with a soft substrate, for example mineral wool, TAFTEX® GF-140 may be applied directly to the soft substrate. TAFTEX® GF-140 should be applied in a shingle fashion. For overlaps, maintain a minimum of 150 mm and a maximum of 200 mm. Apply the membrane to the structure using staples or battens. Always apply TAFTEX® GF-140 legibly from the outside. Tape off staples, seams and overlaps with TAFTEX® membrane tape. Seal penetrations and connections wind and watertight with VASTR® Butyl tape or Tyvek® FlexWrap tape. For optimal water resistancce and durability, VASTR® Butyl tape should be applied under the batten.
