Cold insulation side
UV resistant membrane

Tyvek® UV Facade

Tyvek® UV Facade is a waterproof and extremely breathable, 2-layer spunbond membrane composed of HDPE and Polypropylene, based on Tyvek® Dupont™ Technology. The membrane has been specially developed as a protective, Breathable membrane for use in constructions with permanent UV load such as poorly closing tiled roofs (old Dutch roof tile). Maximum 30mm gap between structural members. Tyvek® UV Facade meets the 5000 hours test-UV load and artificial aging. Tyvek® UV Facade protects the structure and provides optimal airtight insulation. Tyvek® UV Facade is also available with an integrated adhesive strip; Tyvek® UV Facade Plus.

Applications

Tyvek® UV Facade is applied as a waterproof, extremely breathable layer on the cold side of the structure. This membrane is completely waterproof and can therefore also be applied directly to hard substrates (such as the roof boarding). Tyvek® UV Facade is used in both new construction and renovation work.

Installation

Tyvek® UV Facade should be applied in a shingle fashio where horizontal overlaps should be a minimum of 150mm. Tape off staples and overlap seams with Tyvek® Facade tape. Tyvek® UV Facade is applied to the structure using stainless steel staples after which the battens are placed over the staples. VASTR® Nail Sealing Tape should be applied under the batten to ensure water tightness of screw hole connection. Tyvek® UV Facade should be processed with the black side facing outward. When used in conjunction with Facade cladding, a wooden slat is installed over the staples on the batten. At the location of a corner, the membrane should be inverted to the first following batten, where it is fastened with staples and possibly a wooden slat. For optimal water resistance and durability, VASTR® Butyl tape should be applied under the batten.
