Applications

VASTR® Ultraflex is used to close gaps and openings in the building envelope from the outside. This is often the connection of one structural component to another. In places where water, snow or wind can enter the structure, it is essential to close it permanently. VASTR® Ultraflex is the ideal product for this due to its flexible, simple and fast processing. The VASTR® Ultraflex is extremely UV-resistant and available in 3 colors to match the aesthetics of a building. The adhesive layer provides adhesion to most common substrates such as roof tiles, zinc or concrete. Because the VASTR® Ultraflex is self-vulcanizing, overlaps or perforations melt together to form a single unit so that water-repellent performance is guaranteed.

Installation

VASTR® Ultraflex is easy to cut with the MG Scissors PRO. Both lengthwise and widthwise, cut the VASTR® Ultraflex to size. Determine the desired roll width and color and process the VASTR® Ultraflex in a shingle fashion to ensure drainage. Remove the protective foil on top of the product. Slightly cut the release membrane on the back so that you can remove it in sections, revealing the self-adhesive layer. Provide a dry and dust-free surface and attach the Ultraflex by pressing firmly into place. When attaching VASTR® Ultraflex to an uneven surface such as a wavy tile roof, apply it to the high points first. Remove remaining release membrane and gradually press the VASTR® Ultraflex into the gaps to create a fully formed seal and bond. If the substrate is wet, the Ultraflex can first be worked with an (electric) burner so that the moisture evapourates. For highly absorbent substrates such as concrete pans, it is recommended to first apply a strip of double-sided VASTR® Butyl tape where the VASTR® Ultraflex can be pressed in.
